My son was there with another family and left his brand new glasses behind. I called the front desk that day and they were not located. I called back later that week and we confirmed they were found. The lady who I dealt with was exceptional and made sure they were the correct pair and we received them in the mail a few days later. If I'm planning a trip to OC I will definitely consider Howard Johnson.
My sister, her boyfriend and I are college-educated, working professionals who live out of town.
On Friday, July 1, 2016, we arrived at the Howard Johnson Oceanfront Inn, 2401 Atlantic Ave, Ocean City, MD, for a long fourth of July weekend.
We arrived early with the intention of barhopping along the boardwalk but since it was raining upon our arrival we opted to hang around the lobby until our room was ready.
We chatted with the lady at the front desk who was so kind and patience as she answered the many questions we had about the area.
When our room, 511, was ready, we immediately took the one elevator on the premises to our floor - the one elevator did not hinder us at all during our stay.
As we walked to our room all we could smell was cleaning products and fresh linens as we passed the open doors of the rooms where housekeeping staff was working.
All of the hotel attendants were falling over themselves to assist us in any way they could.
Our housekeeping attendant was a young lady by the name of Courtney who was stellar at keeping us supplied with whatever we needed.
We had a two bedroom suite and although the hotel is not fancy, our room was extremely clean, with fresh sheets, bedspreads and bath towels.
We had one full bathroom and a half bathroom, both of which looked new and was very, very clean.
The kitchen countertops, cabinets and microwave look relatively new and was very clean.
The full-size refrigerator was impeccably clean, even though my sister and I had our own cleaning products to do a onceover (this has always been habit of ours.)
The living room and dining room furniture was not fancy but we could see that it was relatively new and was clean and in very good condition.
The carpet in our hotel room looked brand new and it was also very clean.
I read hundreds of reviews from various websites about this hotel and I decided to take a chance on staying here for the fourth of July weekend and I do not regret my decision.
I am firm believer that some people just look for things to be negative about and I am so happy that I was smart enough to ignore the negative.
I am also a germaphobe and I am very picky about where I eat and sleep but I do believe in giving credit when it has been deserved.
This is not a fancy hotel but it certainly exceeded my expectations.
I would recommend the Howard Johnson Oceanfront Inn, 2401 Atlantic Ave, Ocean City, MD to anyone and I would also stay here again.
A word of advice to anyone making reservations when you are from out of town and looking to stay at hotel that you are not familiar with is to call the local number on that hotels website and confirm that you are speaking to a local who can give you first-hand information about the hotel and the area where you will be staying.
Very nice and Relaxing Stay, staff were very nice and friendly, room a bit small, but view from our third floor balcony was great waking up to the Ocean view was breathtaking!! Highly recommended!! See you next year!!!
My buddy and I stayed here for 2 nights .... we were both pleased. The front desk staff was friendly, and answered all of our questions ... got a room with a beach view .. sat on the balcony with an ocean breeze.
Room was clean ... shower and tub in bathroom ... fridge and microwave .. clean towels ... and friendly service ... Thumbs up for sure !!
We were there over labor day weekend; had a beautiful boardwalk , ocean view room. The staff goes out of their way to make sure all yours needs are met and the manager ALLIE makes sure everything is taken care of.THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!
We had a Boardwalk room. Very Clean, Service was Excellent!!!! Will be back!
My husband and myself and my 3 grandkids stayed in a 2 bedroom suite. The beds were very comfortable and loved the deep jets bathtubs. It had plenty of room for all of us and being it was across from the elevators it was very quiet in the bedrooms. Loved the sliding glass doors in the living area and both bedrooms. The full balcony across was awesome. I would fully recommend staying here. We used the pool near the restaurant with different colors lights at nite and drink service. We ate dinner and breakfast at the Anchor restaurant and the waitresses and owner were wonderful. Hoping I can come back soon. Very relaxing.. 🙂
When my and my friends go into the room e were just soo happy! We got a room for basically $500 that had 2 beds a pull out couch a balcony of the beach a microwave a huge toaster oven and a cabinet just full of plates bowl and glasses to use! They had a pool and they said they gladly would call the hotel a few blocks away to let them no we were gonna come use the Jacuzzi whenever we wanted to use it no charge and no problem!
Room was clean ( a little damp/humid), but we cranked the A/C for a bit. The we opened the porch and listened to the ocean as we slept! Great pool! The location of being on the boardwalk/beach was wonderful! Staff was very friendly! The people in the lunch cafe were also extremely nice! Price was good. We would definitely stay here again!
